Filming

Filming is going particularly well so far, we've all turned up on time and a lot of the shots have taken not as long as we thought they would.

The parts to our narrative (in order) are as follows:

  • The church intro - we see character 1 praying and then being followed out the church and through the churchyard by the man in the mask; his conscience
  • The hit and run scene - we see character 1 in a car with a body on the bonnet after he's hit him
  • Being followed - shots of character 1 being followed by the masked conscience
  • Conscience death - character 1 kills his conscience and lifts off the mask to discover who it is

Nick supposedly 'filming'
We've all been together as a group when we've filmed but one of our actors couldn't do a Tuesday so we decided to film on the weekend. However, we all had things to do and it was decided that I would go with our actors to film the following shots. Thankfully it was a sunny day and we managed to get all the shots (plus some extra ones) filmed and finished!

We have a 'death' scene which is where the character kills his conscience because it's supposed to have been driving him crazy as he's being followed by it all the time. However, when we were thinking of how to film/edit/plan this, we just wrote down some initial ideas on what to do and how to do it:
Planning!
Whilst thinking about this 'death scene' we also wanted the character to unmask the conscience to see who it really was. The angle that we wanted this to be from was a worms eye angle and we got this inspiration from Quentin Tarantino who uses it quite a lot and he calls it the 'trunk shot' as it's usually in the trunk of a car. In Inglorious Basterds it's a point of view shot as Brad Pitt is crouched over a Nazi. For example:

Although Quentin Tarantino isn't a music video director we still decided to use or think about using this angle as it's interesting and can be seen as a POV shot. In our music video we've filmed our POV shot from the conscience and this is what it looks like:
