It begins...

Storyboard Template
Our group have started to storyboard and in our last lesson, we went out to one of our locations and walked through what we would be filming in the song's introduction. Our first location is St Mary Redcliffe church and we chose this as one of our locations because our college is right next to it and also it's gothic and would fit right in with our music genre; metal/rock.

The introduction/first section is twenty seconds long and we have three parts and shots to it. The first shot will be of the church and the camera will be moving towards the door. Once at the door the second shot will be of the inside of the church and it is here that we first see the character who is praying at the altar and the third shot is a close up of their face.

Whilst walking through it, we split the twenty seconds up into three; the first shot will be nine seconds, the second shot will be eight seconds and the third shot will be three seconds. Whilst we were discussing this, the idea of a video blog (vlog) came up. We thought this would be a good thing to do whilst we're filming because then we won't forget anything which we would have to write on our blog, so we would film a video blog or 'vlog' and then upload it with maybe a few written lines to present what we've done and filmed.

However, after we had finished the first part of filming (the church), we realised that the introduction wasn't twenty seconds long, it was actually forty seconds long! In Garageband we had begun to split up the song into sections so we could see how long each part was. (By section I mean first the intro, then the first part with lyrics then the instrumental bit after that and so on and so forth). What we were looking at which we thought was the second counter was actually the bar/beat counter.

Thankfully we realised this after we had uploaded our footage which was of the introductory shots into iMovie. We then changed the bar/beat counter to seconds so we wouldn't make that mistake again! Because of this mistake we have to go out and film more footage for our introduction so hopefully that'll be fine!

Our actors consist of two of my friends who are both interested in acting. Me, Tilly and Nick all have two hours free together every Tuesday so that'll be time used to film with our actors!
